Balbriggan make the McGee Cup Final after a hard fought semi-final against Navan. Final score 9 v 3. Billy Phelan kicked Balbriggans 3 penalties. He kicked 2 in the first half giving Balbriggan a 6 v 0 lead at half-time. He scored a third penalty to give Balbriggan a 9 v 0 lead, early in the second half. Both teams missed a number of penalties, but half way through the second half, Navan got their only score. This was a hard fought and even game, and credit to a fine Navan performance. Tonights referee was Helen O’Reilly of Ashbourne, who has been selected to referee in the Ladies World Cup in August. Best of luck to Helen.
