IRFU Aviva Minis Festival

The IRFU Aviva Minis Festival took place on March 7th in Balbriggan RFC, where we hosted 23 teams from 17 different clubs all around the province.

This took a lot of organising as the Club had to provide packed lunches for all of the players as well as ensure the pitches and clubhouse were spick and span and ready for a Mini Rugby invasion.

Friday night saw volunteers from the Men’s squads, Club members, and parents of the U10 team come together to make hundreds of sandwiches, prepare hundreds of lunch bags, and ensure the club was ready to go for Saturday.

Saturday morning started early with our car park volunteers guiding guests to their spots and ensuring we squeezed as many buses and cars in as possible. No easy feat but they did so while listening to some of the best Disney songs as our PA, Brian Jackson, blasted them over the system.

Teams arrived, boots were laced, games were played, and tries were scored and everyone went home with a smile on their face. The overall theme and sense of teamwork and fun were hugely prevalent throughout the day.

The Club would like to say thank you to every coach, parent, player, and volunteer who attended the day; it was a huge success, helped in no end by the wonderful weather we had. We would also like to thank all the volunteers who made it happen; it was a fantastic day that was possible only thanks to your efforts.

Over 350 photos from the day were sent to parents via a shared link (thanks to Andrea Murray) and others were posted on our social media platforms which you can find here.
