Memory Lane

This is a photo of the 1st team of Balbriggan RFC from 20 years ago. It’s great to see that some of these faces are still involved with the club, through coaching and admin. Amazingly, two of these guys are still playing for the club! Sadly, our friend and great club man, Martin Corcoran RIP, pictured in the photo, is no longer with us. He is still thought of, and remembered in the club.

Passing of Former Club Member

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death earlier today of former Club member Mr. Leslie Cashell. Leslie, aged 87, was a long time member of Balbriggan RFC and a former Vice President of the Club in the early years after it was reformed in the 1970’s. Leslie was the father of former Club President Robert Cashell and the first cousin of the Club’s Honorary Treasurer David Cashell. His removal will be to St George’s Church, Church Street, Balbriggan on Sunday the 5th January at 6pm, funeral at 1pm Monday the 6th. Our thoughts are with his family at this time. May he rest in peace.

Take Me Out

A special thanks from Balbriggan RFC, to skipper Tom Hagan, Ian Murphy, Anto Whelan, and special guest Conor Caldwell, for taking part in Take Me Out tonight on behalf of the club. Well done to the lads!

Balbriggan RFC and O’Dwyers GAA Club raise money for St Vincent de Paul

Balbriggan RFC and O’Dwyers GAA Club hand over a cheque for 575 euro to the Balbriggan branch of St Vincent de Paul. This money was raised from the compromised rules match that was held between the two clubs. Also, the minis section of Balbriggan RFC hand over a cheque for 600 euro to St Vincent de Paul. This was raised at the minis rugby blitz last Sunday, and which was attended by rugby teams from all over the North East and as far afield as Virginia.
