Balbriggan RFC Membership for Season 2021-2022

Registration and membership payment for the upcoming season is on Clubforce, through the following link –
Note – Mini & Youth Membership – For season 2021-22, we have again built the ‘weekly sub’ of €3 per child (€5 for 2 siblings and so on) into the online membership. In other words we will no longer be taking payment of the weekly sub at the club, and the online membership payment is a once-off payment that covers the entire season, up to the end of April 2022. This represents a substantial discount on club membership for minis and youths.
All membership payments, from minis through to seniors and pavilion members, are to be made through the above link. There is an option to pay your membership upfront, or to spread payments across 3 x monthly instalments.

Dear Member,

Please take note of the following:

This post also provides Notice to the members of the Club of the forthcoming AGM which is to be held at the club’s premises (unless otherwise specified) on Wednesday 18th August at 8.30pm.

Election of Officers: In light of the Covid-19 Global Pandemic, and in line with the decisions already by the IRFU, the Leinster Branch IRFU and the North East Area Leinster Branch IRFU, the Executive Committee of Balbriggan RFC have decided to continue each person in their roles on the Executive Committee for the season 2021 – 2022, subject to the members at General Meeting.

Due to the Covid-19 global pandemic and guided by Government of Ireland advice on health and safety, the AGM may be postponed or cancelled at short notice. In the alternative, the AGM may be switched to “virtual conference call” held by Zoom. Attendees at the AGM will have to comply with social distancing and complete covid-19 health declaration forms.

Attendees must confirm in advance their intention to attend the AGM in order to ensure that a space is reserved and therefore must reply to the Hon Secretary confirming that they will attend.

Community Enhancement Programme Funding at Balbriggan RFC

Thank you to Fingal County Council for the support that we received as part of their Community Enhancement Programme. We received funding of €700 which supported us in buying three boot cleaners, one for each of our pitches. The boot cleaners are a much-needed addition to the club, particularly as we train and play most of our matches during the winter months. Thank you to Fingal County Council for their continued support of Balbriggan RFC.

Return To Rugby

It was great to see our minis and youths return to training this week. The theme of training sessions was fun, as players took to the pitch for the first time in four months. Our younger minis (U6/7 through to U9) will return to training on Sunday May 2nd. Training is at 10.00am-11.00am.

The Stingers will return to training on Sunday May 9th – U18’s only, for the first training session, as per government regulations.

From Monday May 10th, seniors will return to training.

New Year Message 2021

Seamus Murphy RIP

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of club Trustee, former Club President (1977-1980), and long-time supporter and patron of Balbriggan RFC. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.
Seamus was a great friend to Balbriggan RFC and to the wider community over many decades. His loss will be greatly felt by many.
One of Seamus’ fondest memories during his time as President, was when Balbriggan won the Anderson Cup for the first time, in 1980. Through the years, Seamus continued to help and guide Balbriggan RFC. When the club bought the lands where we are now based, Seamus helped manage the development of the new grounds. Through his work at Balbriggan RFC, he will be forever remembered in the great facilities that we have today.
Rest In Peace Seamus.
