Balbriggan’s IIXV play Dundalk at home in the first round of the Dunne Cup. KO 8pm.
Provincial Towns Seconds Cup Fixture
Balbriggan’s IXV play away to Enniscorthy this Saturday, March 26th in the second round of the Provincial Towns Seconds Cup. KO 6pm. All support welcome.

Balbriggan ran out of gas on Sunday in their league play off against New Ross. The final score flatters the winners but Balbriggan giving themselves a handicap of 26 points in the first half left themselves with a very tall mountain to climb. Just as well the video camera wasn’t there as the Monday video session on the first half would have left a lot of embarrassed faces including the coach. Continue reading →
Willie Sheridan RIP
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Willie Sheridan, the father of our friend and clubman Damien Sheridan. Mr. Willie Sheridan passed away on March 8, 2016 after a short illness. Our thoughts are with his wife Phylis, children Amanda, Darren and Damien, and with all of his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Murphy’s Funeral Home, Edenmore on Friday from 3pm to 6pm. Funeral on Saturday, March 12, in St Benedict’s Church Grange Park, arriving for 10am Mass and afterwards to Glasnevin Crematorium.

Balbriggan wrapped up their league campaign securing the runners – up spot and a play off against New Ross next weekend for promotion to Div2A. To have watched this match it would not have been evident to the casual spectator that there was so much at stake as had Balbriggan lost Athy would have had the opportunity to steal the runners up spot. Balbriggan were lethargic through the match and really should have had the game wrapped up by half time but it was only in the last couple of minutes they put some deep water between themselves and the warriors. Clubhouse Planning Application
To all members and friends of Balbriggan RFC. We are delighted to announce that planning permission was applied for on March 1st for our new Clubhouse. IRFU Accepted onto World Rugby’s Raleri Goggles Trial
IRFU Accepted onto World Rugby’s Raleri Goggles Trial
The Irish Rugby Football Union has been accepted onto the World Rugby Raleri Goggle trial allowing those requiring the use of goggles to now apply to World Rugby to participate in the trial and purchase a pair of Raleri goggles, if accepted onto the trial.
The IRFU reminds all players, coaches, referees and parents that the trial is limited to the Raleri goggle only, and in accordance with the terms of the World Rugby trial, no other eye-wear will be permitted, for health and safety reasons, in contact forms of the game. Continue reading →
