Balbriggan’s U10s at the Aviva
On Saturday 23rd May, Balbriggan’s U10s were one of the lucky teams from around the country that were chosen to take part in a Mini’s Festival at the Aviva Stadium.
They got the rare opportunity to run out on the hallowed turf of the home of Irish Rugby. They then played rugby on the main pitch, cheered on from the stand by their families and friends. It was a great day for the club, and in particular for the U10’s team, that they will remember forever.
Thanks to Stephen Waldron for these photos.

Balbriggan RFC Mini’s
Balbriggan RFCs Minis wrapped up the season with a prize giving evening. All players were rewarded for their great efforts in the season with a medal each. Coaches and players alike showed great commitment in training and playing through a long season with many highs. Thanks to all the players and parents for their commitment to the club. Thanks to all the coaches who give so freely of their time. A special mention must go to Sarah Waldron who is there week in, week out, helping with the admin side of the minis. Thanks also to Paul Varga and Gerry McCleery for their hard work, much of it behind the scenes. And lastly, a huge thanks to Eamon Darcy who took over the Minis at the beginning of the season and did such an extraordinary job, including organising a trip to Italy for our U8s/9s & 10s, organising the North East Santa Blitz in Balbriggan, as well as the Pat Browne Cup, and organising the end of season prize-giving amongst many other events throughout the year. Thanks to all, and see you next season.

The Cube
We at Balbriggan RFC would like to thank everyone who made ‘The Cube’ a huge success for both ourselves and O’Dwyers. Thanks to our main event sponsor Luke Moriarty of The Moriarty Group (Super Valu & Bracken Court Hotel) who has been a long time supporter of both clubs. Thanks to all local businesses and TD’s/Councillors who took out ads in our programme. Thanks to all members and friends who bought tickets and supported both clubs in the process. Lastly, a huge thank you to our 32 contestants, including David White of O’Dwyers who beat the Cube, for stepping forward and representing their clubs. We couldn’t have done it without you and your support will not be forgotten.
