Peggy Quinlan RIP
It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peggy Quinlan (mother of U12’s coach Jason and grandmother of Cian) at her home surrounded by her loving family. Sadly missed by her loving husband Thomas, daughters Laura and Sarah, son Jason, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, Stephen, Alex, Cian and Caoimhe, daughter-in-law Caroline, son-in-law Paul, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her home on Thursday from 4 – 8pm. Removal on Friday morning to S.S. Peter & Paul’s Church, Balbriggan arriving for Funeral Mass at 10 o’clock. Burial afterwards in S.S. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
Women’s Team Meeting
There will be a meeting for the women’s team at the club on Thursday July 26th at 8pm, ahead of the new season. New players/intending members are welcome to attend.

Annual Golf Outing
The annual golf outing for Balbriggan RFC takes place on Friday 27th July at Balbriggan Golf Club. First prize on the day is a Fourball at the K Club.
All support on the day would be greatly appreciated. There are two ways in which support can be given.
• Entering a team of four at a cost of €200. The format of the day is a 4 person scramble. The entry fee includes food. Tee times available from 2pm to 5pm so please phone 087 631 9236 to book a slot.
• If you do not wish to enter a team, you or your company could sponsor a Green or tee box for €100.
Summer Tag & BBQ Day at Balbriggan RFC
The Annual Tag Rugby Day & BBQ takes place at Balbriggan RFC on Saturday July 14th. All are welcome to come along to this fun day of tag. Registration for the day is at 1.30pm. Entry is €5 and this includes the afternoon of tag and BBQ and a soft drink. This year there will be two sections for tag, Junior Tag (Ages 11-14) and Senior Tag (Ages 15-adult). Always a great day, look forward to seeing you there.
Balbriggan RFC AGM
Balbriggan RFC’s AGM takes place in the Bracken Court Hotel (Hamilton Suite) on Wednesday, 13th June at 8pm. Club members are invited to attend.
Balbriggan RFC Finals
On Wednesday, May 2nd, Balbriggan’s Women’s team will play Portlaoise in the Paul Cusack Cup final. KO is 7.15pm at Clondalkin RFC.
Also on Wednesday evening, Balbriggan’s U14s will play Ashbourne in their Leinster League final. KO 7.30pm at Navan RFC.
On Friday evening, Balbriggan’s IXV take on Boyne in the Jenkinson Cup final. That match takes place at Dundalk RFC. KO 8pm.
Sunday and all roads lead to Donnybrook. Balbriggan’s U13’s play Old Wesley in their Leinster League final. KO 3.10pm. Following this, Balbriggan’s U16s play Cill Dara in their Leinster Cup final. KO is 5pm.

Super Sunday at Balbriggan RFC
Rugby at Balbriggan RFC kicks off this Sunday morning with Balbriggan’s U13s at home v Clontarf in the Leinster League semi-final. KO 11am.
Balbriggan’s U16s are in the North East shield final v Navan. KO 12pm.
Then Balbriggan’s Women’s team play Wexford in the semi-final of the Leinster Paul Cusack Cup. KO 1pm.
Meanwhile, Balbriggan’s IIXV are away to Navan’s IIIXV in the Dunne Cup. KO 5pm.

Bumper Weekend for Balbriggan RFC
Balbriggan RFC launched it’s newest rugby team on Sunday, a team for people with special needs and intellectual disabilities. Despite the wet and windy weather, there was a good turnout, with everyone eager to give rugby a go. Thanks to Leigh O’Toole for organising everything. Leigh was ably assisted by Jenna, Aoife, Fiona, Suzi, Ali, Keith, Noah, Georgia and Beth. It was great to have Niall Rynne, President of the Leinster Branch, at the club to help launch our new team. Balbriggan Women are Leinster League Champions

Balbriggan deservedly won the Div III Leinster League title on Sunday in Naas. Having gone through the season unbeaten it would have been a travesty had they not come through the playoffs to win the title. The ladies from Navan had other ideas and pushed the Balbriggan Ladies right to the final whistle. On a beautiful warm sunny day in Naas, the ladies from Navan had nothing to lose and having lost twice in the regular season against Balbriggan knew what to expect and had obviously done their homework. It was Balbriggan who started the game going forward and with the slight slope on the Naas pitch were spending good time in the Naas half. Continue reading →
