Pat Browne Cup Final

The sun shone on Balbriggan RFC as the Pat Browne Cup Final took place on Thursday evening. The Cup Final saw St George’s NS and St Molaga’s NS competing for the memorial trophy. This was one of the most exciting finals yet, with two strong teams representing their schools. Both teams were cheered on by some fantastic support from the sidelines. Full-time arrived, and with the teams level, the game went to “golden try” extra time. First to score a try would win and it was Molaga’s who got that vital try to seal their victory. Congratulations to St Molaga’s on their win. Also well done to St George’s on a great game.
Rita Browne presented medals to both teams. She also presented the Cup to the winning team.
Thanks to all who participated in the Pat Browne Tournament, both in the heats back in March, and in the final last night. Thanks also to Glenn Predy, Balbriggan CCRO, Stephen Costelloe, Fingal CCRO, and Eamon Darcy for all their work in ensuring the smooth-running of this competition.
